One of the finest rentals on the island. Extraordinary attention to detail in every element from the sheets to the communal spaces. Those communal spaces are one of the best things about this rental as they are huge, generous double height spaces with comfy couches, loads of light, plenty of room around the big table for everyone and a great wood burning stove. Super fast WiFi no matter how many people are in. Lovely walks in every direction. Good food in the village. Stunning sunsets over the water. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.

This isn't just accommodation, its an experience to remember.”

The conversion to accommodation is simply excellent - the quality of everything is evident and the attention to detail make this a memorable experience and not just a place to stay. The owners and hosts Melanie and Marty could not have been more welcoming and attentive. This has to be one of the most special places to stay in Northern Ireland and certainly in the Strangford area.

“Beyond words…”

It is difficult to find words to do this magnificent church conversion justice. It is totally unique. The interior is stunning, each of the five double bedrooms has its own distinct appeal, including countryside views through the quaint church windows, super-king beds, impeccable en suite bathrooms. The open plan living area, with the original pulpit as a centre-piece, is tastefully decorated. The corner kitchen allows you to be part of the evening craic while cooking and the long table dinner perfect for groups. A truly special place.

There is a soothing, peaceful stillness inside the former Presbyterian church which Melanie and Marty Hamill have restored and converted into stunning self-catering accommodation in the seaside village of Strangford, Co Down.

“Everything we wanted and more.”

Words will never do this place justice... From the second you walk through the huge doors your breath is taken away. What an amazing opportunity to stay in such a historic building. We married at Old Court Chapel on Saturday and stayed in the converted Church with our family for the weekend of the wedding. The memories made here will last us a lifetime. The Church is beautifully and tastefully decorated. Our beds were super comfy and it was a cosy and homely place to stay. We had a bbq to celebrate fathers day and the church proved to be very capable of entertaining a crowd due to it's spaciousness and beautiful grounds. The owners Marty and Melanie are the most wonderful couple who could not have done enough for us. They were so welcoming, helpful, generous and kind and we are all very grateful to them both. Absolutely fantastic place, 100% recommend... we cannot wait to return!

Historic. Stunning. Unique. Convenient. Simple. Elegant..”

Marty and Melanie are exceptional hosts of an outstanding property. This home was a perfect for our family of 9 visiting for a wedding at the Old Court. The listing could not be more accurate and all of the amenities are of the highest quality. Communicating with Marty was consistently clear and helpful...and always prompt. Please take extra time to stand on the historic pulpit and enjoy the book of photographs that chronicle the painstaking renovation. Appreciate the time, effort and care that Marty and Melanie devoted to this project as you will never stay in such a wonderful place again.

“Stellar, professional service.”

Truly Excellent Experience in this Property. The Hosts were immensely kind in their flexibility to our timings, responding to every one of our enquiries. The Property is exquisitely restored, with every one of the Bedrooms, further to the imposing Living Room, finished to high degree. We were six guests, therefore benefited from every one of the Bedrooms possessing their own ensuite. The Dining/Living Room is truly enormous; we held Dinner for 10 guests one of the evenings of our Trip, which never felt confined. The Kitchen is equipped well, with the Nespresso expediting our recovery from the Wedding we were in County Down for.. Would Highly Recommend.

“…a stunning conversion”

Marty and Melanie were wonderful hosts. They made us extremely welcome and comfortable from start to finish. They were very easy to communicate with and nothing was too much trouble for them. The Old Church is a stunning conversion. All of the rooms and bathrooms are lovely and the kitchen was really well equipped. We stayed here with friends for our wedding weekend and staying here made it all the memorable. This is a beautiful part of Northern Ireland and we would highly recommend staying here!
